Last lab...

Ce matin à 8h je me suis dirigée vers mon dernier "lab" de "Writing for the media". Mon instructor Jeff (photo à gauche) est un journaliste drôle et relax. Par conséquent cet atelier d'écriture qui me faisait vraiment peur au début s'est vite transformé en 2h hebdomadaires (enfin il a été tellement absent que c'était limite mensuelles) détendues à tapoter un article sur un clavier en buvant du café (avec mon thermos vert que j'ai eu en réduc au Starbucks). J'ai eu de meilleures notes que beaucoup d'américains. Ce n'est pas que je suis une star en anglais, c'est juste que certains ont vraiment un problème avec leur langue...

Ce bon Jeffouille nous a reservé l'article le plus facile pour la fin, c'est à dire un article de blog. Et comme ce matin il y avait de la glace sur les pare-brises pour la 1ère fois dans toute l'histoire de la Floride, nous avons opté pour ce sujet. Je met donc mon dernier article de lab ci-dessous, et mon premier article en anglais de ce blog.

The Ice State

Ice on windshields is a tremendous issue in Florida. How Floridians would survive during the five most freezing months in France?

It was 8 a.m. on this sunny Wednesday and I was surrounded by complaints about ice, a new enemy these people had never fought before. But I truly rejoice with the situation since scratching ice on a car is a delightful confrontation with Mother Nature.

This refreshing experience makes people feel like adventurers when they eventually reach the workplace in one piece, entering an office that they come to see as a warm shelter they enjoy more than usual.

As Floridians definitely miss a good way to never be bored with heat, their fear is understandable. "In 10 years, it is the very first time I have ice on my car !" Jeff Brumley complained. It seems that we are living a great change that will never be forgotten in Florida history.

After the election of the first black president, the first freezing winter. It seems that I was there at the right time. A time of change. Is this another sign of global warming that Floridians are experiencing? An issue not to be forgotten for President Obama?
